The best time to plant a tree was when Paul Harris was alive. The second-best time is now. Club members joined RI President Ian Riseley challenge to plant 1.2 million trees before Earth Day. On Friday April 13th, club members planted 150 trees and a Montezuma Bald Cypress tree at the Prax Uribe Park also know as the Sunrise Rotary Park. The project was made possible thanks to partners City of Brownsville, Tree City USA, Texas A&M Forest Service, and the club’s sponsored interact and rotaract clubs.
Club members rode over 800 miles through District 5930 to end Polio and raise funds for Hurricane Harvey Relief in our Rotary District. The ride began at Laredo, Texas and passed through Victoria, Corpus Christi and stopped in cities along The Rio Grande Valley including Brownsville. Sunrise club members greeted the riders at The Brownsville Convention and Visitors Bureau on Saturday, March 24th 2018.
Donate blood three times a year and become a hero. In conjunction with the United Blood Services, The Rotary Club of Brownsville Sunrise members sponsored a Blood Drive January 27th & 28th at The Sunrise Mall Court. A total of 37 units of blood were drawn during the project.
